I have since "disabled" it, but the popups continue about every 5-10 pages I open. I'm hoping something can be removed from "about:config" page to stop this. I removed Bing as my third search engine setting in it, but that didn't make it quit.
I have followed every guide I can find online, reset firefox more than once, and no matter what I do Bing keeps getting set as my default search engine for the address bar once firefox has been closed and reset. How can I permanently remove Bing as the default engine and have this setting saved so that it is not undone after every update?
what does it take to stop Yahoo from becoming the default search engine? i know how to set the default search engine. I set it to Google. Then, I delete Yahoo as an option. Within 2 weeks Yahoo has reinstalled itself as an option AND become the default. Repeat. 2 weeks (or somewhere around there...I don't really know the exact timing) later it appears again as the default. Ugg!!!
